Weber put up some videos on YouTube today with Kevin Kolman.

Interesting that I initially heard that you should put drip pans in the bottom of the barrel, but Kevin puts his on top of the flavorizer bars.

I'm going to try this Sunday with my 15lb brisket.

This gave me something to do while drinking coffee this morning! I am encouraged hearing his comments about the future enhancements to the app. One of the main reasons I bought my EX4.

Appreciate them putting those out there. They probably should have done them before launch. I’m sticking with my EX4 and am also excited to see what future app updates include. I’m a gadget junkie so the app and connect functionality was a reason I wanted a pellet grill too!
I had thought about using drip trays for messy cooks to aid in cleanup so that doesn’t bother me too much. Unfortunately they touted not needing them so people will jump on that. My main concern right now is with the pellets and potential flameouts. I’m always going to be around while smoking but I don’t want to be constantly worrying about needing to stir the pellets. Maybe the more I use it I’ll go longer between checking and have no real issues.
Actually I guess my main issue right now is I’m not going to have any time to use it this weekend 😁.

2 hours and 45 minutes into my 3-2-1 baby backs. So far so good. I used a small pan with water between the grill grates and the flavorizer bars on the right side to add some moisture and to equalize the left to right temp issues and I have it within 10 degrees front, back, side to side (about 1/3 out from the middle left to right and about 1/3 out from the center front to back.)
If it holds up the entire 6 hours I am keeping it. Got some flaws, but what doesn't?
