For those that have been on the fence whether to purchase a SmokeFire grill or not, now might be the time. Weber currently has a $200 price drop on both models. The SmokeFire EX4 is $799, the SmokeFire EX6 is $999.

Does anyone know if this is a holiday price sale or a permanent price drop?

I gotta say, they are a pretty good deal at their original MSRP now that the bugs are pretty much ironed out. They are a steal at 200 off IMO. It’s just a shame that someone made the decision to bring the product to market a few months too soon. I had frustrations, but have other cookers and wasn’t solely reliant on the SF. Those who were stuck must have been really butt hurt and rightfully so. I absolutely love the thing now that it’s working properly. Love!

I didn’t take a chance on timeline and just popped on an EX4. Now waiting notification of receipt, 3-7 days?
Surprisingly, Lowe’s honored my Veteran’s discount on top of the 20% so 30% off!

I’m sure it’s designed to be temporary. Once it’s reintroduced to the consumer and word gets out it works as designed, they will fly out of the stores IMO.

Obviously there is a reason they reduced the price $200 with a three star rating...first thing I would suggest for those interested in purchasing do a test run at customer service just in case you might have an issue...I just gave up after holding an hour listening to the recording that “we value your time” being an owner of a SF and having repeated issues...and countless ruined cooks I suggest caution...

Ok hold times 1 hour +which might be a sign they can not accommodate existing customers/issues + 3 star rating from existing owners of Weber SF may be an indication that it does not “work as designed” sorry I do not share your optimism

The vast majority of poor reviews are dated. Mine works flawlessly since the updates a few weeks ago. I know of several others personally that have the same experience. Quite sorry that your experience is still poor, but I just don’t see that continuing. There is absolutely no debate around the fact that they should not have released it prior to these issues being ironed out. That said, the word is out that the pain is largely behind them and if they continue to improve the App experience and the work in the accessories, it’s a big winner of a product. I would suggest you request a refund. They will grant it.

Having owned both a Traeger and a MAK not sure I need to keep waiting for Weber’s fixes (assuming you could talk to a representative in less than an hour waiting) for their fixes...challenge you to call representatives at MAK and see how long you are put on hold...will see how receptive Weber is in giving refund... if and when I can talk to a representative...again thanks for your response however, I may not be one you can convert to a SF champion...

Yeah, I’m not trying to convince anyone. Just sharing my personal experience. I’ve used all levels of Traeger, Memphis and a couple others. I have appreciation for all of them in certain respects. I also have fiddled with MAK and they are a great unit as well. I really like the smokefire. That said, while I had some challenges, they don’t appear to be anywhere near the stress you’ve had. I‘m confident they will refund your grill. I know it’s not a help to you personally, but remember that this COVID thing hi right when the grill went out. These customer support people are trying to work the hotlines from home. In fact, Illinois shut down Weber for a month or so. Real bad timing on top of a really ill advised launch. Good luck!

I sent an email to Weber on Thursday asking them if they intended to do anything for all the folks that pre-ordered, paid full price and worked with them through all the issues.
Please let us know how they respond.. I would love to receive that $200 for beta testing since day 1.

I’m guessing the tremendous success of the Masterbuilt gravity feed line has a lot to do with this. Now if only Weber would build one of those......

I suspect longevity issues with that one. We shall see, but there are reports
In the interwebs of the hoppers failing. No personal experience from me though.

I was ready to buy the SmokeFire in January. While waiting for the roll-out and local availability I was reading and researching Pellet Grills in general. I had basically convinced myself that the SmokeFire was going to be my first pellet grill. after the debut, all I saw or read about, were the issues that some were having. I knew that the issues would be worked out, because it is Weber, but I did not want to deal with the possibilities of issues along with being a first time pellet grill owner. With this sale, I may should have waited, but I changed lanes in Late February, and bought a Rec Tec 700. I still really do like the SmokeFire design and appearance. I commend all of you that stuck with it through the growing pains, I do not know that I could have done it. I will say, that I am now a Pellet Grill convert. I have gone through 180 Lbs of pellets (Lumberjack Supreme Blend) and have produced the most amazing food with such good smoke flavor and color I could not be happier. I may end up with a SmokeFire yet, it just will not be my first. I am certain that the SmokeFire will produce just as amazing results as my Rec Tec, (hope to learn for myself someday) as I take NO credit for the food that comes off of the grill, it is the design, engineering, and choice of pellets that makes the magic happen.
