I’m reverse searing some NY strip steaks now. First time trying that with this cut of meat. Currently 27 degrees with a wind chill factor that makes it feel like 17.

I have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of smoke in colder temperatures on Smoke Boost a few times. I opened the grill after 20 minutes to check on the temperature of the steaks and they were only at 68. When I said to heck with it and cranked it to 350 to try to get them cooked it said the temp was 105. Got them finished up and everything was good after a bunch of screwing around.

I have installed all the “new parts” from Weber. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Thanks!

Several individuals have seen issues with SB at temps below 40 degrees. However, I do not believe that there is any consensus at this time.

Same thing here. Last time I turned smoke boost off, the outside temp was 25-30 and the reported grill temp was 110. I don't think that mode regulates a temp, just smolders the pellets. Probably a set slow pellet flow, maybe even kicking the glow plug on occassionaly just enough to keep the pot goin??? During the summer, temp was 160ish when leaving SB.

Looks like according to Weber’s website it should be between 165 and 200 degrees. Hopefully this can be resolved with another software fix,

I just sent an email to Weber support asking if they would look into this for a future software or firmware update.
