Well. My ex4 is still running flawlessly. Although with all the stuff going on, I have yet to set up a low and slow cook.

Anyway. I'm getting ready to throw burgers on. In fact two were on. Then the dog runs around and pulls the plug sending it into shutdown mode when I plug it back in. Has anyone found a way to bypass this mechanism? Really threw a wrench in my plan tonight. I'll be emailing Weber in the morning to see if they can program it differently, to ask what my intentions are when plugged back in

Thanks all! Hope the general feel for the smokefire is coming up for everyone!!!

yea, bypass that problem....before next cook put that dog on a leash...:)

He was on a tether. He's inside now. But the same problem could happen from tripping on the cord or any number of other problems.

I don’t know of a way to bypass it, but would be nice if they added a way to do that with a warning message saying in what circumstances it’s safe to bypass. I also think there needs to be a way to lock the plug in better. Since it hangs down feels like would be easy to step on the cord and pull it out.

There is a velcro strap there. I secured a couple of loops of cord so that the weight of the cord is not directly on the plug. Holds great while moving around and such.

Good idea. I’d also like something that locks it in better to be even more secure with how long the shutdown takes.
