Weber SmokeFire EX4
This is a first. Bought this beauty from Costco yesterday 14.5lbs and started my EX4 for an overnight smoke and it has been stuck at 165 now for 15 minutes. Then it went to 170. Target temp of course is 225. Anyway, I shut it down and waited the agonizing 15 minutes and opened everything up to check the pellets and the slide to make sure it wasn’t clogged or anything and it wasn’t. I’m stumped. This is the first time this happens. Reading on the forum here the only thing I can think of is that my pellets have been sitting in the smoker for about a month and it’s very humid in Austin this summer I’m thinking maybe they’re damp? I don’t get this at all…

Alright I restarted it and stuck a probe in there to compare temps look at this…

Here we go… I hope to God I can sleep and wake up and this thing will still be at 225…

Why is it running all night now then with no issues? So weird…
Not sure.. The heat may have dried them out enough once it was running?
All I know is that humidity can cause issues like this.

I am a big fan of Weber but unfortunately welcome to the Smokefire. Even after all of the troubles I have had fixes, repairs, parts etc. I even sold it to a buddy and he brought it back and I paid him back for it because I felt so bad. Weber did finally settle up with me in the end which good for me because I was just at the point of wanting to beat it with a hammer. My now sets on my pool deck covered up at the very end and I haven’t used it in months.

Come on dude. No room for quitters in here! The Traeger forum is elsewhere! It ran fine all night and my brisket came out perfect as always…

Lucky you…. I have five other Weber’s to cook on so I’m safe. I have a $1000.00 anchor taking up space. Summit Charcoal is the beast. Perfect cooker.

You want the anchor? Make an offer!

I will pay the shipping.
If you hate it as much as you make out, you will just be glad to see it gone.

So beyond shipping it’s not worth a nickel to you either. There you go.
No I am just willing to persist with it.
Your loss is my gain.
The way you are talking it down, you should be paying us to take it.
Or at least having the conversation with Weber about them taking it back.
You have been going on and on about it since you joined up.

What zip code are you in? I’d come get it, give you some boot, but Weber DID settle so....
